Emseal Movement Joint Systems - Now available in the UK

Emseal movement joint systems and their company strapline of ‘Watertight by Design’, are increasingly well known throughout the world, particularly for sealing wide and high movement structural joints on buildings and civil engineering structures. These systems have originally been well-proven and tested in the harsh North American market, with all its extremes of temperatures and loadings for more than 25 years. This has included installations on almost every different type of structure in new construction, and for refurbishment and in retro-fitting  as well. This included several projects in the UK, but on a rather ad-hoc basis and mostly just using the Emseal DSM system, which is an innovative and cost-effective solution for deck joints with limited traffic, such as on multi-storey parking structures.

Emseal produce virtually tailor-made movement joint sealing solutions for new construction and refurbishment or retrofitting of difficult and complex structural movement joints. The selection and use of Emseal solutions ensures that wide and high movement joints are not only made securely watertight, but they are also made securely resistant to many other service demands such as heavy vehicular traffic or other environmental exposures, whilst also safely and securely accommodating thermal expansion and movement up to 100% (+/- 50%).

Many Emseal systems are also designed to maintain the integrity of fire-proofing, with built-in certified fire-resistance up to 4 hours according to EN 1366-4 (same as BS476) and now with CE Marking too. Where required the Emseal movement joint systems also provide high R values for excellent thermal insulation and high STC and OITC Values for acoustic insulation.
